Congratulations to Johnson High School senior, Leah Hartman, for having her artwork selected by our Governor’s wife, Cecilia Abbott, to hang in the Governor’s business office for a year. There are only 10 artworks in the state selected for this honor.
Ninety-nine artworks were selected out of 300 originally submitted by 50 school districts across the state. The largest districts in the state are allowed a maximum of 8 entries. Of the 8 entries submitted by NEISD, 3 were selected for the Capitol Show. Of those original 99 winners, only 10 are selected for the Governor’s office. This Capitol Show will be exhibited in two Austin locations: the South Gallery at the State Capitol from March 28 - April 4, 2017, and the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum from March 7 - March 26, 2017.
Congratulations to all of our NEISD winners:
Congratulations, again, to Leah and her teacher for such excellent work!
School districts are the backbone of any community. Sports, events, Fine Arts, competitions, and even educational opportunities for adults provide time for friends, neighbors and families to connect. Judson ISD brings the excitement and fun of Senior Prom to the seniors in the community. The evening is full of dancing, fun and memory-making while connecting with the younger generation. "The JISD Senior Citizen Prom was again a successful event as the community's mature adults showed up at Judson Early College Academy to show the youngsters how to party down. They had a great time dancing to the favorites from the past 50 years," says Steve Linscomb, Director of Communications for Judson ISD.
