CHOOSE PUBLIC EDUCATION
School districts bring communities together. Every day, teachers, administrators, and staff work to provide students the foundation and opportunities to succeed in life. There are countless stories of students overcoming obstacles, thriving under the rigor of academics, and achieving their dreams. Neighborhood schools are surrounded and supported by the community and local businesses. Providing an education for all children not only serves the individual and family, but also creates a strong workforce. Public education is free and open to all students and is critical to the health and vitality of our community. Sports stadiums and athletics, fine arts, science fairs, school cafeterias and PTA meetings are just a fraction of the times we come together to support our students on their roads to success. A public education guarantees the following:
EDUCATION FOR ALL CHILDREN
Education is the key to success. It's the foundation for a strong workforce and community. From Advanced Placement, Talented and Gifted, Magnets, Trades, Dual Language, Dual Credits, Special Education, and Career Pathways, public education provides these opportunities free to all children.

GOVERNANCE BY A SCHOOL BOARD
School Boards are elected by the community and are required to participate in three types of continuing education. "School Boards build a bridge between the community and schools. They're your voice. They listen to community members, school staff, and students and share these messages with the superintendents. They advocate for their school district by speaking up for them to local officials and others in the community. They set direction for the districts." --From the Texas Association of School Boards' video, "What Do School Boards Do?"
