This plane was completely worked on and created by students in Southwest High School’s Aviation program! The district partnered with the Dee Howard Foundation, Experimental Aircraft Association 35, Southwest ISD Education Foundation, Kellogg & Associates, Civil Air Patrol, and City of San Antonio. Additionally, the wonderful staff, including the Dragon One Pilot, Darren Medlin, and Bob Franz, the aviation program’s shop teacher, helped guide students to this monumental moment for Southwest ISD!
