Alvin ISD Student Publishes First Book

Alvin ISD fifth-grader Reyansh Lal is a published author! The Shirley Brothers Elementary School student wrote a book about three friends on an adventure to find treasure.

“The Lost Book” is a 15-page story inspired by Reyansh’s interest in fictional fantasy.  The idea for the book came from a 4th-grade writing assignment that expanded into a major personal writing project.  Reyansh dedicated his book to his 4th grade English Language Arts teacher.  “I dedicated my book to Ms. Burroughs because without her support, I wouldn’t have been able to write it,” said Reyansh.

The book, which took the 10-year-old seven days to write, is for sale on Amazon.  Reyansh will donate his royalties to shark rescue efforts, and he is currently working on a sequel. This student author definitely makes Alvin ISD proud!
