Waller ISD Advances Athletic Program with New Coach

Waller ISD is advancing its Athletics Program by providing all male and female athletes from 7th through 12th grade with a strength and conditioning coach.  Led by Coach Louis Altomare at Waller High School, the Strength and Conditioning Program makes WISD one of the few districts in Texas to provide this service to all student-athletes as early as 7th grade.

A strength and conditioning coach looks after the overall health and performance of athletes. They focus on nutrition, athletic performance, avoiding injuries, and teaching basic fitness skills.

“A lot of this is getting kids up to a level where they are safe on the field,” Altomare said. “If I can help prevent injuries, then that can give students a chance to continue playing and go to a university of their choosing.”
