Hondo ISD students showcased outstanding performances across multiple FFA competitions, earning top honors at both state and national levels.
At the Texas Tech State Contest, the Hondo FFA Wool Judging Team claimed 1st place overall, earning the title of State Champion and qualifying for nationals. Individually, Zohana Wavle placed 1st, and Nolan Riff placed 6th. In the same contest, the Hondo FFA Entomology Team placed 18th overall. The team also competed in the National Invitational Entomology Contest hosted by Tarleton State University, where they placed 7th. Wiley Reus earned 4th place as a high individual.
Additionally, the Meats Judging Team represented Hondo FFA at the State Meats Contest held at Texas A&M University, placing 12th overall. Carynn Jacobs earned 10th place individually and was also awarded a prestigious $20,000 renewable Texas FFA Scholarship from the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
These achievements reflect the hard work, dedication, and excellence of Hondo ISD students and the strong leadership within its FFA program!
