The Alamo Heights Swimming and Diving team had an outstanding weekend of swimming and diving at the Regional Championships in Rosenberg. The girls finished 2nd while the boys placed 3rd in overall team competition.
In all, swimmers won 3 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 19 bronze medals. The top 3 divers will go to state automatically. The top 2 swimmers go to state automatically, plus the next fastest 8 swimmers/relays from all 8 regions. The UIL takes 3rd to 8th place finishers from all 8 regions and tabulates the top 8 swimmers/relay from that group (6 X 8=48). Of the 48…the top 8 move on to state.
