Brazosport ISD Awarded Cybersecurity Grant

Brazoswood High School in Brazosport ISD was recently awarded the Lockheed Martin/Project Lead the Way Computer Science Grant for $10,000.  The award goes towards the implementation of the Cybersecurity capstone course, and the school will purchase upgraded computers for the Computer Science Lab.

Cybersecurity Pathways

As part of the PLTW Computer Science/Cybersecurity pathway, Texas teachers can become part of a growing network of credentialed Cybersecurity teachers.

CTE Director, Jessie Jennings stated “The need for cybersecurity professionals is not going away anytime soon. Over time hackers create more sophisticated ways to break into networks and systems and we want to prepare our students to become the next generation of cybersecurity engineers ready to tackle this issue head-on, making them workforce ready.”

 The Brazosport ISD high school was one of 50 schools across the country to earn the grant.
