The annual event took place at the James Reese Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center, where students representing all 11 high schools participated in a day of demonstrations and activities.

Officers from FBISD’s Police Department simulated a crime scene and walked students through the criminal investigation process including properly collecting evidence. They also showed students how the district’s virtual reality police training simulator helps prepare them for real-life incidents.

Representatives from the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office engaged students in a mock trial and officers with the Sugar Land Police Department explained how they use drone technology in emergency situations.

The Sugar Land Fire Department and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department also participated in the event.

During lunch, students had an opportunity to network with criminal justice professionals and learn about different job opportunities and current requirements.
