Brazosport ISD

Preparing Students for Tomorrow — Caring for Them Today

Mission

Our mission is to graduate each student to be future ready. Brazosport ISD… setting the standard for educational excellence!

Highlights

Within Brazosport ISD’s 200 square miles and 19 campuses, there is a strong sense of community brought together through agriculture, ranching, industry, the arts, technology, and small business. This year the district is celebrating 75 years of educational excellence. Since 1944, the district has been building on the foundation of a growing community made up of eight communities: Freeport, Lake Jackson, Clute, Jones Creek, Oyster Creek, Surfside Beach, Quintana and Richwood.

BISD has invested in state of the art facilities and cutting-edge technology for teachers and students to enhance the innovative discovery and learning process.
The district has opened three new elementary schools in the last three years, with two more scheduled to open in the 2020-2021 school year. In 2019, registered voters in BISD overwhelmingly approved a $267 million bond, which includes a new replacement high school, an elementary school STEM facility, new CTE program facilities and offerings, and other district operation enhancements.

The district offers over 100 Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses for academic credit and works closely with local industry, businesses and Brazosport College to meet the demanding needs for jobs in the Greater Houston Area. Opportunities include programs of study ranging from Engineering, Manufacturing, Animal Science, Construction, Rocketry, Audio/Video, Graphic Design, Cybersecurity and Health Science, just to name a few. Students earned more than 1,800 CTE certifications during the 2018-2019 school year within these career fields.

Along with rigorous academic opportunities, including award-winning fine arts programs, advanced science and mathematics coursework, innovative technology, engineering, and extensive career and technology courses; our students are prepared for college or career.

Brazosport ISD is made up of kind, caring employees and community members who work together to ensure that students have a wide range of high-quality programs to engage every learning style and assist in tapping into the unique gifts and qualities of every child’s interest and potential.
