Cypress-Fairbanks ISD showcased three hands-on pathways that put student skills to work across culinary arts, information technology, and inclusive employment.
Advanced culinary arts students at Cypress Park and Cypress Ranch high schools are enrolled in a student-driven baking course. Learners choose categories, research recipes, build menus and grocery lists, and fulfill weekly staff orders—gaining real experience in production, budgeting, and planning.

Students from Langham Creek and Jersey Village high schools visited Prime Systems for an IT practicum day. They toured the facility, disassembled and repaired district Chromebooks, and strengthened diagnostics and troubleshooting skills through real hardware workflows.

Through the V.I.T.A.L. Program at the Carlton Center, CFISD partners with the Empower Employment Program to provide community-based, work-based training for students with disabilities. These placements help students apply classroom learning, build independence, and often lead to paid employment.
