Midway ISD pledges to observe Start With Hello Week at Hewitt Elementary! This initiative is a week-long promise that celebrates the importance of kindness and belonging. The program teaches students how to look for the signs of social isolation and increase inclusivity and empathy with their classmates. The goal of the week is to foster a welcoming community where all students feel a strong sense of place.
To kick off Start With Hello week, Hewitt Elementary hosted a ‘Meet-N-Greet Monday,’ where students had the chance to grab a Hello Gram and send a heartfelt message to someone special on campus. Later in the week, students wore green to honor the Sandy Hook promise, sponsors of the Start With Hello Week. Together, they showed their unity and solidarity in continuing to spread the message of kindness.
