Crosby ISD Health Science Practicum students partnered with the Cody Stephens Foundation to provide heart screenings for Crosby Middle School athletes.
These Crosby High School students provided over 250 heart screenings for Crosby Middle School 6th grade students in preparation for the athletic season. The training is part of their required hands-on experience for completing their EKG Technician certification.
The Cody Stephens Go Big or Go Home Memorial Foundation, founded in memory of Cody Stephens, who died from an undetected heart condition just weeks before graduation from Crosby High School, partners with the largest to the smallest schools, in big cities and remote communities.
The mission of this foundation is to partner with schools to implement heart screening programs with electrocardiogram as a part of pre-participation physicals, and raise awareness that Sudden Cardiac Arrest is preventable.
