Klein ISD 5th-grade students from McDougle Elementary School have taken the initiative in creating and cultivating their school garden with the help of Ms. Grant and Ms. Swailes.
Throughout the whole school year, the students have planted and cared for a variety of vegetables. This project has taught and allowed the students to learn how to cultivate their skills, engage in teamwork, and gain hands-on learning.
Through this project, learning opportunities such as sustainability and environmental concepts allow students to see beyond. They increase their sense of community and accept concepts in the real world. Students are actively shaping a greener future for themselves and those around them!
