McAllen ISD robotics students from across the district put their skills to the test at the South Texas FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifier. Ten elementary and middle school robotics teams competed in various creative engineering challenges, earning recognition across multiple categories.
The FLL program offers students the opportunity to apply STEM concepts through creative robot designs and careful experimentation. With the guidance of dedicated mentors and coaches, students build confidence as they work through real-world robotics challenges together. Each team not only has the opportunity to earn awards for their impressive creations, but also for demonstrating teamwork and professionalism throughout the competition, as recognized through the Peer Award and Core Values Award.
Several teams advanced to the South Texas Regional Championship, including Milam Elementary, De Leon Middle School, Castaneda Elementary, and Fields Elementary. McAllen ISD looks forward to supporting these teams as they take the next exciting step in their robotics journey!
