United ISD Fine Arts Student Newscast

United Student Newscasters

United ISD features multiple news channels across the district. One is called “Knowledge for College”, a half hour academic game show where two students from two different schools who compete against each other. A Public Relations host leads the show , joined each week by a special co-host, such as school district officials, board members, elected officials, local media personalities, and community members.

A big thank you to Louis San Miguel from the Laredo Morning Times for guest hosting the exciting Knowledge for College game show! Freedom Elementary Bees and the Bonnie Garcia Stallions went head to head showcasing their knowledge in math, science, social studies, and language arts. The UISD ITV audience also consists of parents, teachers, and sponsors who cheered on these students.

United Feature Campus Newscast

United ISD showcases its campuses through the “Feature Campus” Newscasts, a series of half hour newscasts produced for each school in the district. Two students from their respective schools anchor the newscast, promoting and highlighting the many positive initiatives happening at each campus. Alexander High School students Mia Rubio and Javier Gonzalez recently took the lead as anchors for the program, delivering news and updates from across the district.
