Every year, the Adopt-A-School Program works with elementary schools across Denton ISD to participate in the annual Art & Essay Competition. Every 4th and 5th grade student submits an original piece of artwork and an essay (written in English or Spanish) based on the yearly topic. In the spirit of partnership with the Denton Black Film Festival, the year’s theme was, “Resilience”.

By celebrating creativity and resilience, Denton ISD’s Adopt-A-School Art and Essay Contest inspires young minds to express and explore.
