Bastrop ISD actively encourages student involvement, particularly in fields where they are underrepresented, fostering positive change and empowerment.

One program that they have partnered with in schools is Girls Who Code, which is an amazing and extremely important program for students who are interested in coding, stem fields, or just want to have some fun on the computer!

Girls Who Code is in classrooms nationwide. The program teaches students the world of computer science hands-on, through fun educational games and models online.

Girls Who Code has inspired many students around the world to go into particularly male-dominated fields. Bastrop ISD’s Girls Who Code program at Camino Real Elementary School is incredibly beneficial for future generations.
