Thirty-five teams representing Northside ISD elementary and middle school campuses competed in a FIRST LEGO League robotics qualifier event.
Beard ES was named first place Grand Champion, and Mary Hull ES was named second place Grand Champion. Additional teams advancing to the regional championships are Brauchle, Forester, Franklin, Hatchett, and Ott elementary schools; and Hector Garcia, Hobby, and Stevenson middle schools.

FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Student teams this year were challenged with the SUPER POWERED theme to think about the energy around us.
