Beyond the Typical Library

Alvin ISD’s Hood-Case Elementary library brings exciting things into the space like live Monarch caterpillars.  The librarians get to know every student in the school and tailor their book choices to students’ interests. Children are engaged in reading and listening to books read aloud, and they get to participate in a Nerf war if they read required books.

O’Connor High School is one of Northside ISD’s schools that participate in the annual author festival for teens, LibraryPalooza: That Author Thing!

Students can meet, ask questions, and have books signed by their favorite authors! The festival comes back next year after a year off due to COVID- watch what you can expect in this amazing festival video- LibraryPalooza
