Brazosport ISD launched the Ag on the Go program at Bess Brannen Elementary in collaboration with the Texas Farm Bureau. This initiative introduces agricultural education directly to students through interactive trailers, engaging kindergarten through twelfth graders.
Developed by the Texas Farm Bureau, Ag on the Go offers TEKS-aligned lessons that connect agriculture to real-world contexts. Students explore various topics such as careers in agriculture, cotton, corn, forestry, livestock, and sustainability.
The program not only educates students about the origins of their food, fiber, and fuel but also facilitates connections with farmers and ranchers. It enriches classroom learning with interactive activities and resources, enhancing students’ understanding of agriculture’s impact on their daily lives.
Ag on the Go also provides professional development opportunities for educators through Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours. This supports teachers in delivering comprehensive agricultural education and fostering a deeper appreciation for the agricultural community among students.
