The non-profit, We Go Public (Go Public) provides resources and spotlights to help parents and the community learn about public education and public schools. Our website and tools include information about:
Our San Antonio-area Independent School Districts serve 340,238 students. Our school zones are broken up into ISDs (school districts).
The districts cover Bexar, the Hill Country, Comal, and Wilson counties.
Principals, teachers, counselors, nurses, and maintenance are a few of the roles working together to create an environment that is safe and supportive. Academics and extracurricular clubs provide opportunities to all students with varying interests and skill levels.
Mr. Roland Toscano, is an East Central graduate, who has served the last twenty years of his career in East Central ISD as a bus driver, science teacher, coach, assistant principal, Heritage
Middle School Principal, East Central High School Principal and now as Superintendent of Schools. He graduated from UTSA with his Bachelor’s degree in 1997, and earned his Master’s degree in 2005, from Texas A&M, Kingsville, in Educational Administration.
Mr. Toscano has an established record of mentoring and developing successful school leaders. He serves on the TASA Executive Committee, the Go Public Steering Committee, and is involved in numerous educational leadership organizations across Texas.
Roland and his wife Bonnie (also an East Central Graduate), have three children; Dustin, a 2013 EC graduate, has a career in education; Francine, a 2015 EC graduate, currently a registered nurse; and Tyson, who is an 8th grade student at Heritage Middle School.
