New Member District Information

Our San Antonio-area Independent School Districts serve 340,238 students. Our school zones are broken up into ISDs (school districts).

The districts cover Bexar, the Hill Country, Comal, and Wilson counties.

Principals, teachers, counselors, nurses, and maintenance are a few of the roles working together to create an environment that is safe and supportive. Academics and extracurricular clubs provide opportunities to all students with varying interests and skill levels.

Leadership

Mr. Gilstrap

Mr. Gilstrap earned a Bachelor of Science from Midwestern State University and a Master of Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University. He is currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Educational Leadership program at Tarleton State University.
Mr. Gilstrap began his educational career as a teacher and coach at Temple ISD. He also worked at Waco ISD and Bruceville-Eddy ISD. Gilstrap later served as an Assistant Principal in Connally ISD and then Belton ISD. He became a Principal at Rogers ISD, and after two years was promoted to Superintendent. Most recently, Mr. Gilstrap has served Ennis ISD as Deputy Superintendent. Among his many duties at Ennis ISD, he managed all aspects of Human Resources for approximately 800 employees and Student Services for approximately 5,900 students.
Mr. Gilstrap and his wife Gail have two children. Seventeen-year-old Emily is a high school senior, and six-year-old Luke is in first grade.
