Great Day SA and KENS 5 named Edgewood ISD’s Memorial High School Senior, Jordan Ortega, as an All Star Athlete! Jordan is a varsity athlete in five sports: football, golf, basketball, baseball and track. In his interview with KENS 5 News, Ortega says he is appreciative of the great ceremony his school threw him and for the presentation of the All Star Athlete Award. He felt like his teammates and school love and support him. In addition to his sports involvement, he participates in community outreach, and keeps exceptional grades for his senior year of high school.
He attributes his ability to seemingly do it all to the support he receives from his family and commitment to a well-scheduled routine. He has offers multiple universities, but has not made a final decision on where he will be heading after Memorial. Currently, his top choices are the University of Houston, Texas State University, and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
As a closing word of advice to fellow student athletes and peers in Edgewood ISD, Jordan says to keep pushing through the hard times and surround yourself with supportive friends and family members.
