North East ISD students went to the rodeo! The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is celebrating 75 years of memories and milestones this year. While this may be a fun tradition for you and your family – it’s also a landmark event for our Agriscience Magnet Program (AMP) students.
Many Madison High School students in the AMP program have been busy showing their animals – from steers to goats, lambs, rabbits, chickens and more. They spent long hours over holidays, weekends, and hot summer months to make sure their animals were well taken care of.
Now, that hard work is paying off in the form of scholarships. To date, the San Antonio Livestock Exposition (SALE) has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to graduating seniors of the James Madison FFA.
Next week is National FFA Week and February is Career and Technical Education Month. I’m so grateful for the teachers who spend countless hours helping our students discover their passions and make the most of every opportunity that comes their way.
