Cy-Fair Teacher to Attend Harvard Workshop
One Cypress- Fairbanks ISD teacher will attend an exclusive Harvard workshop to study case-based methodology. Cypress Springs High School government and economics teacher Jared Selby is headed to the Harvard Case Study Method Workshop. The workshop trains teachers across the country in the practice of case method instruction.
A “case” is a short narrative that presents a challenge for students to discuss. Then they collaborate under the instructor’s guidance to find a solution. The teaching method aims to strengthen civic engagement because students learn confidence. They learn to challenge each other and build on their peer’s ideas.
