High school sports bring the community together, provide opportunities for families to build friendships, and create ways for businesses to thrive. High school football scores aren’t the only athletic topic of interest. High school soccer, volleyball, and other sports scores and rankings are of interest to communities in rural to urban districts.
Students participating in a wide range of San Antonio-area athletic programs, including high school basketball and more, have appeared in the local and state sports articles and news stories. The media focus on public school high school sports rankings and sports in general demonstrates its appeal.
There are various benefits to becoming a student-athlete. Studies show that students involved in school sports acquire skills that stay with them off the field and throughout their lives. Practice, team interaction, determination, competition, and discipline contribute to students’ development of strong work ethics. They can become leaders and self-motivators.
